SHIKOKU + SETO INLAND SEA ISLANDS TOUR

This is a sightseeing tour of Shikoku and the islands of the Seto Inland Sea. Enjoy a trip to Nagoro Scarecrow Village, the art island of Naoshima, which is difficult to get to in a large group, and a sightseeing train trip where tickets are difficult to obtain. On days when dinner is not included, enjoy your favorite meal around the hotel. You can choose from set meal restaurants, ramen restaurants, family restaurants, etc. This tour is recommended for people who want to go on a rural yet exciting trip. |

TOKUSHIMA JR HOTEL CLEMENT

From the hotel we visit the Tako Senbei no Sato (Rice cracker factory and shop). We can enjoy shopping about 40 kinds of rice crackers. After lunch we go to see the Naruto Whirlpools, they are tidal whirlpools in the Naruto strait, a channel between Naruto and Awaji Island. Enjoy the viewing cruise of the Naruto Whirlpools. This day is a day of high tide, so we can see larger whirlpools than usual. Next go to the Awa Odori Hall to see the Awa Odori, a 400 years old traditional dance. Then we go to the hotel. |

KOCHI RICHMOND HOTEL |
From the hotel we go to see the Oboke and Koboke gorges, they were made by the rapid current of the Yoshino River crossing the Shikoku mountains over a period of 200 million years. At this time of year, you can also see about 100 carp streamers. Then we head to the remote Higashi-Iya district of Shikoku. Visit the Oku-Iya Niju Kazurabashi. Tucked way in the deepest part of the Iya Valley, the Double Vine Bridges are more than worth the effort of visiting. Next go to a unique riverside town for the unexplored region of the world Nagoro Scarecrow Village. Filled with hundreds of life-sized dolls instead of residents who are the declining population. Then we see the Ochiai Village Observatory where you can see the mountain village. During the old battle where the samurais that lost, it is said they hid & lived there. After lunch we go to see Kazurabashi, a suspension bridge made of mountain vines. Then we go to the hotel near the shopping arcade. |

From the hotel we go to the Monet’s Garden Marmottan in Kitagawa Village. It is said the garden is a living museum of plants could actually. Made with Monet spirit and in collaboration with the Claude Monet Foundation, it is the only other garden in the world that is allowed to bear his name. Then we visit the birthplace of Iwasaki Yataro. Iwasaki Yataro (1835-1885) was the founder of Mitsubishi, the giant Japanese conglomerate. After lunch we visit Nishijima Farm, see how they grow the melons then you can eat their fresh, sweet melon. Next we go to Onaga dori center to see Onagadori. The Onagadori ("long-tailed chicken") is a historic Japanese breed of chicken, characterised by an exceptionally long tail. It was bred in the seventeenth century Kochi, and was designated a Japanese National Natural Treasure in 1952. we go to the Katsurahama, see a statue of the local samurai hero Sakamoto Ryoma with nice beach views. Then we go back the same hotel. If you want to go, I will take you to Kochi Castle. The castle is the Makiki Christian Church model also one of Japan's 12 still-standing original castles. |

From the hotel go to Kochi's Sunday market, this weekly market has been a part of life in Kochi city for well over 300 years. There are varieties of shops & stalls, about 300 that lines the road. Then we go to Kochi Station to ride the luxury sightseeing train Shikoku Tosa Toki no Yoake no Monogatari to go Kubokawa Station (Dep.10:02 Arr.12:32). We can also enjoy top quality cuisine made with plenty of Kochi produce on train. The locals will also come out to enthusiastically greet you along your journey, giving you a sample of the genial nature of the people of Kochi. Experience Tosa hospitality and discover the scenery, colorful cuisine, and a friendliness of Kochi. After arrive at the station and transfer to the Shiman Torokko trolley train that runs along the Shimanto river with a great scenery and go to Ekawasaki station. (Dep.13:57 Arr.14:51) Enjoy the views of the Shimanto River and Hiromi River, said to be Japan's last clear streams, from the open-style train windows. From the hotel take a tour of the Shimanami Kaido which between Shikoku & Hiroshima there is 6 islands and is connected with 7 bridges. We go to Oshima Mt. Kiro Observatory Park, the best view spot of the Shimanami Kaido. Then We go to Omishima to see a Salt Factory. We can see modern style factory and old style (flowing-down branches type). After lunch we go Innoshima to visit Innoshima Suigun Castle, it presents the maritime history of the pirates known as “the lords of the sea" who were in control of the Seto Inland Sea during the Sengoku period. After completing sightseeing on the Shimanami Kaido, we visit the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. The townscape created by traditional buildings and the retro-modern scenery along the Kurashiki River continue to fascinate people from all over the world. Then we go to the hotel. |

From the Uno port ride the ferry and go to Naoshima Island known as Japan's Art Island. (Dep.9:22 Arr.9:42) We visit the Art House Project. In this project, artists take empty houses scattered about residential areas and turn the spaces themselves into works of art, weaving in history and memories of the period when the buildings were lived in and used. After lunch we visit the Chichu Art Museum, was constructed in 2004 as a site rethinking the relationship between nature and people. The museum was built mostly underground to avoid affecting the beautiful natural scenery of the Seto Inland Sea. After sightseeing in Naoshima Island, take the ferry back to Uno Port. SHODOSHIMA

From the hotel we visit Washuzan Observatory, a great viewing of the Seto Ohashi Bridge and it’s surrounding. Next, we cross the Seto Ohashi Bridge and return to Shikoku. Then we go to Marugame Uchiwa Fan Museum. Marugame Uchiwa fans now account for 90% of all fans produced in Japan, and over one billion are made each year. In 1997 the Japanese government officially recognized them as traditional craft products. Let’s experience making Uchiwa. After lunch we visit Ritsurin Garden, one of the most famous beautiful historical gardens in Japan. Next go to Takamatsu Port to ride ferry to Shodoshima Island. (Dep.16:10 Arr.17:10) Enjoy a 1 hours cruise on the Seto Inland Sea. After arrive Shodoshima, we go to the hotel. |

From the hotel we go to ride Kankakei ropeway. Kankakei is one of Japan's three major canyon beauty, a symbol of Setonaikai National Park. Then we visit the Monkey Park. Two troupes of roughly 500 Japanese macaques live on the mountain and roam freely around the decaying structures of the spacious park alonside a few peacocks.Next go to see the Angel Road which you can see and walk across at low tide. After lunch we go the Olive Garden, Shodoshima is the birthplace of olive cultivation in Japan. Next we visit Yamaroku Soy Sauce, it’s made the old-fashion way with high quality, all natural ingredients and a long fermentation period. After a short tour of the shoyu factory, you can try their shoyu pudding. Then go to hotel. |

From the hotel visit Twenty-Four Eyes Movie Village, the scenery of the early Showa period is waiting for you. Take a step into the village, and slip back into the nostalgic Showa era. Then we go to the Shodoshima port catch a ferry and go to Himeji (Dep.11:40 Arr.13:20). Lunch is Shodoshima bento on the ferry. After arrived Himeji Port we go to the hotel. After check-in to the hotel then you can enjoy shopping, places like Aeon, Daiso, Uniqlo, etc. near to the hotel. | × |

Leaving the hotel at 11:00. We go to the Kobe steak restaurant for lunch. After lunch visit the Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum. The museum introduces Japan’s culture of wood and craftmanship and the specialized tools used in traditional architecture. Anyone with even a casual interest in Japanese architecture and woodworking traditions will find this museum fascinating. Next, visit to the Kiku-Masamune Sake Brewery Museum. Kiku-Masamune was founded in 1659 and boasts a history of over 350 years. Also popular among tourists are tasting of namazake, freshly pressed sake and daiginjo-flavored soft ice cream. Then we go to Kansai airport for your departure flight to Honolulu. |
