A tour to enjoy the onsen and autumn color leaves. We will visit Kusatsu and Hakone, which are called the best onsen areas. Enjoy the onsen as well as the tasteful townscape. In addition, the sceneries of the autumn countryside, the autumn color leaves of Mt.Fuji and the delicious foods awaits you. For those that like onsen, leisurely sightseeing, and the autumn color leaves we recommend this tour.

YUMOTO FUJIYA
From the hotel go to Kamakura. Ride a rickshaw to explore Kamakura, the former samurai town. Then go to see the Daibutsu (Great Buddha). Lunch is your choice at restaurant. Next go to Enoshima Island, with the central lift go up to the Sea Candle Lighthouse observation tower. Then go to the hotel.

YUMOTO FUJIYA


After leaving the hotel we ride the Hakone Ropeway to go to Owakudani, a volcanic valley with active sulphur vents and many of the nearby onsens get their hotspring water. You can try the Owakudani’s famous Kuro Tamago (black boiled egg). Next go on a Lake Ashi sightseeing boat ride, if the weather is clear it is possible you can see Mt. Fuji. Lunch is your choice at restaurant. Then drive passing through Sengokuhara field, only during this season you can see lots of “Susuki" (tall pampas grass) growing. Next return to the same hotel early and you can walk around the onsen town or use the onsen & relax in your room.

SUWA ONSEN
HANANOI HOTEL

 

From the hotel go to Mt. Fuji 5th station and take a walk. Enjoy the autumn color leaves view of Mt. Fuji. Lunch is at the 5th station restaurant, you can choose what you’d like to eat. Next go to the Fuji Fugaku Wind Cave. It is surrounded by the abundant greenery of the Aokigahara Jukai forest, the course of a 15 minutes sightseeing tour, one can see lava shelves, rope-like lava, and ice pillars that do not melt even in summer. Then go to the hotel.

SUWA ONSEN
HANANOI HOTEL


From the hotel go to Narai-juku. The well-preserved Narai-juku post town marks the midpoint of the old Nakasendo Road, the Edo-era (1600 ~ 1867) path connecting Kyoto with old Tokyo. One of the most prosperous post towns, Narai’s wooden buildings stretch for over 1 km, hence its nickname “Narai of a Thousand Houses”. Lunch is your choice at restaurant. Then go to Suwa city, famous for precision machinery industry and experience glass hanko (stamp). You can design your own & they make the hanko, or you can make yourself, good as a gift. Next visit Onbashirakan Yoisa, the museum of the pillar (log-riding). A facility where you can see & feel the greatness of this festival held once every 7 years. It is one of three Japan’s major eccentric festival, there is always somebody that dies so it is a dangerous festival. You can experience log-riding simulation. Next go to see Suwa geyser. From the hotel visit Matsumoto Castle, one of five castles designated as National Treasures of Japan & the oldest five-tiered, six-story castle tower remaining in Japan. Then visit Daio Wasabi Farm, one of Japan’s largest farm located where small streams constantly provides clear, flowing water from the Northern Alps. There is a wide variety of wasabi related products in the shop & you can try the wasabi soft cream. Next go to Obuse, famous as a chestnut town. Lunch is Chestnut rice set meal. You can buy chestnut items (Japanese sweets) such as Chestnut Yokan, Chestnut Monaka, Kuri Kanoko (glossy chestnut). Then visit Katsushika Hokusai Museum, see displays on famous woodblock print maker from the Edo period. Then go to the hotel.

KUSATSU
HOTEL TAKAMATSU

From the hotel go to ride the Ryuo Ropeway, up to 5800 ft. trip in the sky. See fantastic views of the autumn colors in the surrounding landscapes. Then go to Jigokudani, famous hell valley for the snow monkey. Usually you can see the snow monkeys in the onsen but due to natural wild monkeys there are days they don't come to use the onsen. Lunch is your choice at restaurant. Next go to the hotel in Kusatsu onsen. Kusatsu Onsen is one of Japan's most famous hot spring resorts and is blessed with large volumes of high quality hot spring water said to cure every illness but lovesickness.

KUSATSU
HOTEL TAKAMATSU


On this day enjoy the Japanese culture of the onsen town and onsen. See the Yubatake (hot water field), it is a symbol of Kusatsu and one of the resorts main sources of hot spring water. Watch a Yumomi performance.  Singing a local folk song & stirring the hot spring water with large wooden paddles is a way to cool down the hotspring water to bathing temperature. Next go to Sai-no-Kawara Park. Hot spring water can be seen bubbling to the surface here and there, there is also a small waterfall and a stream with hot water. Lunch is Gunma famous noodle Himokawa udon. Next go to famous as a secret hot spring Shiriyaki onsen. It is said the onsen is good for Hemorrhoids. It is a large natural mixed bathing outdoor onsen. you can use a swimsuit. Those that want to go in don't forget your swimsuit. Then return to the same hotel.

From the hotel go to Numata. Enjoy Apple-picking. Then experience Gunma prefecture specialty Yuba Sukui (scooping up a soy milk skin). After experience you can try taste the Yuba and Tofu cuisine. Next visit Fukiware Falls, often referred to as “the Niagara Falls of Japan.” Lunch is your choice at restaurant. Next go to Senjogahara Marshland. It is particularly beautiful during the autumn leaves season in October when the marshland's grasses turn into a reddish yellow and the larch trees into a shiny gold. KINUGAWA ONSEN
ASAYA

From the hotel take a sightseeing cruise on Lake Chuzenji. Enjoy viewing sceneries of natural beauty and autumn colors. Next go to see Kegon Falls, one of three Japan’s most beautiful falls. Then go through Irohazaka. Spectacular autumn colors along Irohazaka can usually be enjoyed from late October to early November. Lunch is your choice at restaurant. Next visit the Nikko Toshogu, it enshrines the most famous samurai leader Tokugawa Ieyasu. Its carved and brilliantly decorated structures are part of the Shrines and Temples of Nikko UNESCO World Heritage site. Then go to the hotel.

From the hotel go to Tobu World Square. It is an architectural museum with skillful reproductions of 102 world-famous buildings on the 1/25 scale, including 47 World Heritage Sites. Next go to Narita Aeon Mall for shopping before going to Narita airport for your departure.
